Madlyn's Reflection

Madlyn lost herself but you helped her find new hope. Your support provides STH clients with the chance to heal emotional wounds in addition to finding stable housing and employment. Whatever their struggles or history, they learn to build a better life in a safe, trusting place.

Madlyn recently attended a retreat at MoonTree Studios in Donaldson. Participants engaged in two workshops: Art as Expression and Cultivating Creativity. At the retreat, Madlyn realized that she needs to devote more time to caring for herself. Madlyn pours so much of herself into caring for her family and helping seniors in her community -- over time, Madlyn lost herself.

The retreat offered an opportunity for Madlyn to reflect on her life and her needs. She was able to see that she was neglecting herself. She received a gift bag at the retreat, which included a gas gift card. “I lost my income,” she said, “and I did not know how I was even going to get back home today. This experience has given me hope and assurance. I am so grateful for the blessing of my gas card.”

Your donations not only support and help our clients but also remind them that there are people who really care. Thank you for helping us take care of Madlyn so that she can learn to care for herself.
